Janakpur: A three-day orientation training on reproductive health, sexuality, youth and population has begun for journalists.
Thirty journalists from Dhanusha, Sarlahi and Rautahat participated in the joint program organized by the Ministry of Social Development, Women’s Empowerment Mission (WEM) and UNFPA.
Inaugurating the program, Naval Kishore Jha, Head of the Health Department at the Ministry of Social Development in the Province 2, said that the role of the media in delivering health information is important.
The organizers say the three-day training will discuss how to report on reproductive health, family planning, and adolescents.
Journalists attending the training said health issues were still not a priority. They said that the media was also seeking news on politics. They told of the experience of technical issues in reporting to health.
